Started over 20 years ago in Karibib. Today we mine tourmaline at our own site and supply jewelers worldwide — the milestones along the way.
2000
Founded in Karibib
Tourmaline exploration begins in the Erongo Region, Namibia. From Karibib the first pegmatite veins are explored — parallel to the Erongo Mountains.
2003
First claims
Otjikatjango and Omapyu are opened as the first mining sites and become the company’s most productive mines.
2008
Kariongo Trading
Operations are structured under Kariongo Trading as a professional mining company — with own equipment and permanent staff.
2014
Neuschwaben
New Neuschwaben concession opened — home of the deepest, dark blue tourmalines in the region.
2018
Cutting & facets
Rough stones are now also cut into faceted stones — in Namibia and overseas. “Gemstones have a beauty unlike anything else.”
2021
Sister company · Germany
A sister company in Germany takes over transparent export and European distribution to jewelers.

Indigo Blue Namibia mines tourmaline at its own site — blue, green and rubellite — and delivers directly to jewelers worldwide.
